The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the ultimate source and authority that determines and defines what we believe and practice in our doctrine; it is the standard for how we are to live both personally and collectively in every area of our daily lives. The Bible is God‘s word to us, and God is the author. It reveals God, truth for all the creation without any error in its content. God used men whom he inspired,  motivated and guided to write the Bible and reveal God’s nature, God’s character, and God’s plan for the salvation of all humanity.

The True God

We believe that there is only one true God of the universe who is the creator, sustainer and ruler of all creation. God‘s identity is revealed to us in the Godhead, which consists of three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The three persons operate in perfect harmonious unity to accomplish God‘s will and purposes in the world.

The Fall of Man

We believe that God initially created human beings to be in perfect, intimate relationship with God, and therefore we were without sin. Unfortunately, man sinned against God and broke that relationship and connection to God. The consequences of that initial sin were severe and caused death to come upon humanity while also revealing a dangerous flaw in human beings; free choice could be used to sin against God, rebel against God’s will for us and to falsely think of ourselves as equal to God.

The Way of Salvation

We believe that God‘s remedy and provision for human sin is the gift of salvation, which comes by the grace of God and through faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior and Son of God. Jesus Christ, who is God in human flesh, took upon himself the sins of the whole world and died on the cross. Jesus‘s death paid the price for all of our sins, and his resurrection from the dead makes it possible for us to have new and abundant life, free from the penalty of sin.

Justification

We believe that when we have faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God justifies us; meaning that God declares us righteous because we are covered by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ that has paid the price for our sins. In justification, God declares that we have met his standards of holiness and righteousness, because Jesus Christ did it for us, and we have accepted him as Lord of our lives

The Church

We believe that God established the church as the body of Christ for the mutual edification and nurturing of Christians, and that it consists of baptized believers who are in relationship with God and one another, and are called by God to carry the gospel into the world and both word and deed.
